WILLMAR -- Elzo Henry Woltjer, 80, of Willmar, died Tuesday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.

The service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Willmar United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Eagle Lake Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home of Willmar.

He was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Crooks Township, Renville County, to Niel and Elsie (Ruchti) Woltjer. He grew up in Lake Lillian and Pennock and attended country schools. He entered the U.S. Army in 1946 and served in medical corps while stationed in South Korea.

He married Arline Rosenau on Jan. 2, 1950. He worked as a truck driver most of his life.

He is survived by his wife; sons: Dennis (and Nola) Woltjer, Douglas (and Lynn) Woltjer, Steven Woltjer, Mark (and Chris) Woltjer, all of Willmar; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and siblings: Melvin (and Violet) Woltjer of Spicer, Chester (and Geraldine) Woltjer of Pennock, Gertrude Ekander of Willmar, Elizabeth (and Gene) Valentine of Janesville, Wis., and Lorraine Pittman of Lyman, Neb.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Woltjer; and four brothers.
