PAYNESVILLE -- Emily C. Hoeft, 99, of Paynesville died Sunday at Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Burial will be at Paynesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
She was born Aug. 19, 1906, in Slayton to Carl and Elizabeth (Finger) Schlick. The family moved to Paynesville in 1907. She graduated from Paynesville High School and attended St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught at a rural school for a year.

She married Emmett Hoeft on Oct. 7, 1956. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until she retired in 1961. They spent 14 winters in Florida.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville, Naomi's Circle, Paynesville American Legion Auxiliary and Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and one brother.
