Schmidt is the daughter of Al and Judy Schmidt of Watertown, S.D.
She is a 2004 graduate of Watertown High School and a 2005 graduate of Ingenue School of Hair in Moorhead. She is employed by Dooley's Petroleum in Murdock.
Gordon is the son of Adrian and CharleneGordon of Murdock.
He is a 2002 graduate of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School in Kerkhoven and a 2007 graduate of North Dakota State University in Fargo with a bachelor's degree in agricultural systems management. He is employed by Gordon Farms in Murdock.
