VIRGINIA, Minn. -- Ernest C. Knutson, 93, of Virginia died Friday at Virginia Regional Medical Center in Virginia.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors will be by the Virginia Honor Guard.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Range Funeral Home in Virginia.

He was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Swift County to John and Theolina Knutson. He lived on the farm and attended country school through eighth grade. He graduated in 1933 from Benson High School.
He worked on farms until 1936 when he started to work with state surveyors in several cities. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, stationed with the 826 Aviation Engineers in Great Britain, France, Belgium and Germany.
He married Adeline Peltonen on Jan. 25, 1946. They spent a year on the farm and then moved in 1947 to Milwaukee, Wis., where they lived for 32 years. He worked for Universal Rundle for 17 years and Wehr Steel for 15 years. He retired in 1979, and they returned to Virginia where they lived for 20 years. In 1999, they moved to Washington Manor.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Senior Citizens in Virginia.
He is survived by his wife and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.
