MORRIS -- Esther Irene Koehl, 90, of Morris, formerly of Hancock, died Sunday at West Wind Village in Morris.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Christian Church in rural Morris. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to SCMC Courage Cottage or West Wind Village in Morris.

She was born May 21, 1915, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Jacob and Anna (Huber) Pfister. She attended Center School through eight grade and graduated from Fort Scott High School. She worked as a secretary at the Western Insurance Company in Fort Scott.

She married Charles Koehl on March 5, 1939. They lived and farmed in Moore Township, near Hancock. Charles died in 1985. She moved to Skyview Court in Morris in 1999. She moved to West Wind Village in 2005.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (and Karen) Koehl of Hancock, Harvey (and Wilda) Koehl of Morris, Shirley (and Dennis) Kellenberger of Steen, Dale (and Lili) Koehl of Bloomington, Ill., Randy (and Shirley) Koehl of Hancock; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Dorothy (and Wayne) Schmidgall of Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren; and two sisters.
