KERKHOVEN -- Evelyn Hilder Benson, 97, of Kerkhoven died Sunday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kerkhoven Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home - Kerkhoven Chapel.
She was born Nov. 10, 1910, at Gowrie, Iowa, to Herman and Anna Sofia (Andersson) Lindquist. In 1913 their family moved to Swift County. She attended school in Kerkhoven. She helped raise her younger siblings after their mother died.

On Jan. 26, 1936, she married Paul Benson at Murdock. They farmed in Mamre Township. He died Dec. 27, 1964. She continued to live on the farm and worked in the dietary department of Lindberg Home for a number of years.
She was a member of Kerkhoven Evangelical Free Church and had been active with the churchwomen.
She is survived by her daughter: Ellen Benson of Arvada, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three children: Pauline Benson, Curtis Benson and Carol Shaske; two brothers; and seven sisters.
