Event honors memory of Mary Page, to continue her work

ST.PAUL -- The Mary J. Page Community-University Partnerships Fund has been established to support University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships.

ST.PAUL - The Mary J. Page Community-University Partnerships Fund has been established to support University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships.
The Page family and Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships invite her friends and neighbors to a kick-off event for the fund from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the University’s Cargill Building, 1500 Gortner Avenue, St. Paul.
Page, who died in October at the age of 78, was a voice for rural Minnesota. As a commissioner for Renville County, mayor of Olivia, a University of Minnesota Regent, and in many other leadership roles throughout the state, she carried the concerns of Greater Minnesota with her always.
She helped to create and then served on the founding board of the West Central Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships from 1999-2007, and gave vision and leadership to them until 2009. Page provided foundational ideals that formed the citizen-driven aspects of the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships and left a lasting imprint on this Extension program.
