ROSEAU, Minn. (AP) -- It was Big Buff's big day in Roseau.
Thousands of fans welcomed hometown hero Dustin Byfuglien and the Stanley Cup to one of Minnesota's most hockey-crazy cities Sunday.
Byfuglien was one of the stars of the Chicago Blackhawks championship team. While he was later traded to Atlanta, by tradition every player on team gets to bring the Stanley Cup home.
A fire truck led a parade into Roseau as Byfuglien sat in a red convertible next to the Cup. His voice cracked and his eyes teared up as he thanked the crowd at Memorial Arena. He kept the official ceremonies short but spent hours signing autographs and posing for pictures.
Today, Byfuglien planned to take the cup fishing.
