WILLMAR - Stephen Robert Swenson, 45, of St. Cloud and formerly of Willmar, was sentenced Tuesday to 75 months in prison on two drug sale charges for selling methamphetamine to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant in May 2012.
As part of his sentence handed down by District Judge Michael J. Thompson in Kandiyohi County District Court, Swenson was also ordered to pay $100 in fines on one second- and one third-degree drug sale count. He was given credit for 213 days already served in custody.
The charges were filed after the informant purchased 8 grams of meth from Swenson on May 15, 2012, and 6.4 grams of meth from Swenson on May 18, 2012, with both deals happening in the parking lot of the local Wal-Mart Supercenter. The drugs tested positive as meth during tests performed by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The informant identified Swenson as the person who sold him the drugs.
Swenson had prior convictions for second-degree controlled substance crime in November 2002 and fifth-degree controlled substance and conspiracy to commit controlled substance crime in April 2002.
