BELTRAMI - A small explosion at a West Central Ag Services granary in Beltrami, sent two men to the hospital Wednesday morning, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency services responded to the explosion, which started a fire, at about 8:40 a.m., according to a news release. The Beltrami Fire Department got the fire under control and secured the area.
The two injured men were Ethan Hasler, 42, of Beltrami, and James Gunufson, 47, of Fertile, They were taken by private vehicles to Riverview Health in Crookston and the extent of their injuries were still not known late Wednesday.
The cause of the explosion has yet to be determined, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota fire marshal’s office.
