Farmer dies in tractor rollover

MILTONA - Charles Mittag, 62, was killed in a tractor rollover Wednesday night.
At about 8 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about the incident, which happened about 12 miles northeast of Alexandria.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a farm tractor with a front-end loader upside down with the driver was pinned underneath.
Owners tried to upright the tractor and were unsuccessful. Mittag was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses indicated that the tractor rolled over while Mittag was attempting to remove livestock from a corral. The tractor was being operated on a steep incline.
