OLIVIA – Details are limited at this time, but the State Patrol is reporting that a fatal accident occurred Thursday afternoon between north of Olivia at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Renville County Road 11.
According to the preliminary report, the 12:58 p.m. accident involved a 2004 Dodge Intrepid that was going west on County Road 11 and a 2012 Ford truck that was going north on Highway 71.
The driver of the Intrepid is a 34-year-old man from Renville and the driver of the truck is a 55-year-old man from New Ulm.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Olivia Police Department, Olivia Fire and Rescue Squad and the Olivia Ambulance responded to the scene.
More details are expected to be released later this morning.
