BELGRADE -- Emergency 911 telephone service in the Belgrade and Elrosa areas of Stearns County is not working because a fiber-optic telephone line has been severed near Belgrade.
According to a news release from Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner, phone crews are working to establish service. Residents in need of emergency service in that area should either use their cellular phone to call 911 or call the sheriff's office at 320-251-4240.
It is unknown how long the service will be down.
