LITCHFIELD -- A Tuesday morning accident and fire, and the location of the driver of the vehicle involved, are under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
Officers are looking for Mark Anthony Levinski, 22, of Litchfield after the Litchfield Fire Department was dispatched around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday to a home along 655th Avenue. A white Dodge sport utility vehicle was engulfed in flames when a deputy arrived at the scene, according to a news release from Sheriff Mike Hirman.
The sheriff says in the release that further investigation revealed that Levinski was the driver of the vehicle and that the SUV had left the roadway and struck a power line pole at the intersection of 285th Street and 650th Avenue. Levinski got the vehicle back on the road and drove it to his parents' home. He made it halfway up the driveway when the SUV stopped. He managed to take items out of the vehicle before fleeing the scene prior to the deputy's arrival.
Levinski did contact his brother, stated that he was fine, but would not say where he was, the news release states.
