Shed destroyed in Tuesday morning fire

SACRED HEART — A shed was destroyed by a fire Tuesday morning in Hawk Creek Township, Renville County.

The fire was reported to the Renville County Sheriff's Office shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday. It was in the 10000 block of 822nd Avenue, about six miles southwest of Sacred Heart, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office.

The shed was near the house on the property. The shed was a total loss; the house was undamaged, according to the news release.

The shed was owned by David and Darlene Yeager. An estimate of damages and value of items in the shed has not been determined.

No one was injured as a result of the fire. The cause is not yet known.

The Granite Falls Fire Department assisted the Sacred Heart Fire Department at the scene.

Fire destroys shed in Cosmos

COSMOS — A shed and its contents were destroyed by fire late Friday.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fire shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Comet Street.

When the Cosmos Fire Department arrived, the shed was fully engulfed. The Grove City Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The shed and its contents were a total loss, and a 2000 Dodge Durango was also damaged and deemed a total loss.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, the homeowner, Julie Schafer, said the fire could have been related to a wood stove used in the shed earlier in the day.

No one was injured because of the fire.
