WILLMAR -- Despite blustery conditions and snowy, sloppy streets, the Willmar Holidaze Parade went on as scheduled Tuesday night downtown.
Though organizers had been worried the weather might derail the parade, they decided early Tuesday to continue with plans.
Snow started just before noon Tuesday, and kept on steadily through the day. However, until it grew dark, most of the snow melted once it hit the ground.
The Willmar Municipal Utilities, which measures temperatures and precipitation, said that rain measured 0.21 inches and snow measured 1 inch Tuesday, though the windy conditions made exact measurements difficult.
The weather also caused several minor accidents around west central Minnesota Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere in the state, St. Cloud reported 0.36 inches of snow, while Redwood Falls reported 0.45 inches.
The snow didn't reach Minneapolis until just before 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service expects highs in Willmar around 23 today, with wind gusts as high as 47 mph.
