The first snowfall of winter has arrived in Willmar this morning, with an expected 2-4 inches to fall by midnight.
Snow is now accumulating on the ground and buildings roofs in Kandiyohi County.
Kandiyohi County remains under a winter storm advisory, while Lyon, Redwood, Renville, Meeker, McLeod and others counties to the east and south are under a winter storm warning.
The National Weather Service's forecast for Kandiyohi County includes snowfall through the daytime Saturday for Kandiyohi County. The total daytime accumulation of up to 4 inches possible. The temperature high today will be near 36 with winds bblowing between 20-22 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

The forecast for Redwood, Renville and Meeker counties has snow and areas of blowing snow. TOtal daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. The temperatures high will be near 36, with a north winds between 21 and 25 mph, with wind gusts as high as 36 mph.
The forecast for counties northwest of a line from Marshall to Willmar to St. Cloud includes some snow today. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.
Much of southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities have reportedly received upo to one foot of snow.
Drivers are advised to use caution today and allow plenty of time to arrive at their destinations. As of 8 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol said 79 vehicle accidents and 83 vehicles in the ditch have been reported across Minnesota since midnight.
