GLENWOOD -- Florence Louella Syverson, 85, died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Society, Lakeview, in Glenwood.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at West Lake Johanna Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

She was born Sept. 22, 1922, to Alfred and Anna (Kaasa) Anderson. She grew up on the family farm in Camp Lake Township north of Murdock. She attended Camp Lake rural school and the Murdock High School. She then went to work on the Kaasa Brothers' farm near Elbow Lake as a cook and housekeeper.

She married Milton Syverson on June 12, 1943. They lived on the Syverson farm southeast of Terrace. In 2005, they moved to the Ridgewood Villa in Glenwood. In March, she became ill and moved to the Good Samaritan Lakeview Home in Glenwood.

She was a member of the Valdres Samband, the Pope County Historical Society and the Sons of Norway. She was also a member of West Lake Johanna Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband; children: LaVonne (and Keith) Eckhoff of Willmar and Daryl (and Cheryl) Syverson of Glenwood; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five siblings.
