OLIVIA -- While Montevideo remained unbeaten, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City stayed one game off the lead in the West Central South Conference by clipping BOLD 22-7 Friday.
It was also the 199th career victory for ACGC head coach Terry Karlsgodt.
Kyle Johnson's 23-yard field goal in the first quarter for the Falcons (3-1, 4-1) was the only scoring in the first half. ACGC then went up 9-0 on Jordan Tanner's 10-yard touchdown pass to Kurtis Huisman.
BOLD (2-2, 2-3) then answered on Grant Solem's 22-yard scoring strike to Bryce Steffel to pull within two, but Aaron Haag scored on runs covering 7 and 2 yards in the fourth quarter to give ACGC some insurance.
ACGC was outgained 181-163, but its defense limited BOLD to just four first downs and forced three turnovers.

Montevideo bolted out to a 34-0 lead at halftime as Brock Ackerman scored twice on runs of 13 and 7 yards, Tyler Grey threw a 15-yard TD pass to Tyler Ray and Tyler Blomme and Mitch Christenson scored on short runs.
Ackerman scored again in the third quarter and finished with 119 rushing yards, helping Montevideo (4-0, 5-0) gain 284 yards on the ground. Shane Black had a 27-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring for the Thunder Hawks.
The Eagles (1-3, 1-4) got scoring runs from Justin Stamp (1 yard) and Ryan Hoium (30 yards)

Andrew Gunderson broke a 51-yard punt return for six points and snagged a seven-yard toss from Jordan Hagert to give YME a 21-0 halftime lead.
Benson stayed close with a one-yard run in the third quarter by Brandon Berens to make it 21-6. YME canceled that when Hagert and Gunderson hooked up again on a 37-yard scoring play.
