LITCHFIELD -- A balanced rushing attack that fueled a patience offense allowed Litchfield to beat previously unbeaten Waconia 35-14 Friday and move into a three-way tie for first place in the Wright County Conference.
Glencoe-Silver Lake also took advantage of Waconia's loss by drilling Delano 43-20, giving Litchfield, Waconia and GSL identical 4-1 records in the conference and 5-1 overall.
Nic Johnson led the Dragons' ground game that gained 210 yards by piling up 81 yards on 12 carries, which included a 40-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that put Litchfield ahead 28-8.
Dustin Celander scored on two short runs, Kyle Kusler found the end zone from 13 yards out and Calvin Pehle capped the scoring for Litchfield by returning an interception 23 yards.

The Jaguars (1-5, 1-5) picked up their first win of the season and it was the first win for head coach Tim Tanner.
RCW rushed 44 times for 242 yards and had three players with at least 50 yards each, led by Brent Jansen with 75 yards. Tyler Kleinhuizen added 63 yards and a touchdown and Isaac Johns followed with 51 yards.
Kleinhuizen also threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Paul Peterson in the second quarter.

Mahlon Zimmerman rush-ed for two touchdowns and threw for another one in the first half as the Cardinals jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead during Homecoming.
On a halfback option near the end of the first half, Zimmerman ran to his right and threw up a pass that was caught by Aaron Marks.
Zimmerman opened the second half with another touchdown run for a 27-0 lead.
