GROVE CITY -- Montevideo scored twice within a 19-second span late in the fourth quarter to stun Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City by collecting a 21-20 win in the West Central South Conference opener Friday.

Montevideo, which is off a 2-0 start after starting the past four seasons 0-2, scored with 3:46 left on Tyler Grey's 8-yard pass to Tyler Ray to get within six at 20-14. The Thunder Hawks then recovered an onside kick and three plays and 19 seconds later Brock Ackerman scored on a 24-yard run to put Montevideo ahead. Ackerman also scored on an 84-yard run for Montevideo's first score in the second quarter.

ACGC (0-1, 1-1) drove down to the Montevideo 10-yard line late in the game, but an intentionally grounding penalty drove the Falcons back 20 yards with only 33 seconds left. Two incomplete passes closed out the game.

Kurtis Huisman ran for 140 of ACGC's 263 yards.
