DANUBE -- Quarterback Bryan Harper completed only three passes, but they each paid a big dividend as the Jaguars held off McLeod West 34-28 Friday night for their second win in the Southern Minnesota Conference.
After Brent Jansen ran 12 yards for the game's first score and Isaac Johns bucked for another, McLeod West surged to the lead 16-14. The go-ahead touchdown for the Falcons was a 99-yard pass play from Spencer Glaeser to Drew Brooks cutting across the middle.
But Harper hit Jansen for a 32-yard catch and run, Paul Peterson for a nine-yard score and then Drew Hultquist for a 30-yard scoring play and a 34-16 lead at the end of three quarters. Zach Neubarth's pair of one-yard plunges in the fourth quarter weren't enough and the lead held.
Jansen finished with 116 yards rushing. Johns had 73 yards in 15 snaps.
