GRANITE FALLS -- After Lac qui Parle Valley scored the first touchdown of its Section 3AA playoff game, but Yellow Medicine East, the No. 1 seed, tallied the next 49 to advance to the semifinals Tuesday.
The Eagles posted six points on Adam Paulson's one-yard run, but then were held to a total of 173 yards, 100 through the air.
Ryan Fromm got the Sting (7-2) on the board with a 10-yard catch from Luke Berg to put YME up 7-6.
In the second quarter, the Sting rattled off 27 points. Berg threw three touchdown passes and Jerrod Lobdell broke off a 59-yard run.
Fromm scored his third touchdown of the game on a 10-yard run in the third quarter, Jarrett Berg picked off a pass and returned it 32 yards for a score and the Sting forced a safety to cap the scoring.

Berg completed 7-of-9 passes for 174 yards and four touchdowns. The Sting passed for 257 yards overall with two other quarterbacks completing one pass each. Lobdell finished with a game-high 81 yards rushing on 10 carries.
Lars Heglund caught four passes for 77 yards to lead LQPV. Eddie Massee completed 5-of-9 passes for 77 yards.

Morris pulled within 17-14 after Dylan Gahm hauled in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Chase Rambow and Craig Knochenmus caught the two-point coversion pass from Rambow early in in the third quarter. But on the game's next possession, Craig Lachowitzer scored on a 63-yard run to give Ottertail Central some more breathing room.
Rambow completed 19 of 31 passes for 243 yards, including a 24-yard scoring strike to Knochenmus to open the Tigers' scoring. Knochenmus had 119 receiving yards on eight catches.
