Former Morris man dies in S.D. crash

A former Morris man was killed Tuesday in a wreck southeast of Ashley, N.D., the Sioux Falls Argus Leader reported.

Robert Kramer, 42, was a 1983 Morris High School graduate.

Just after 9 a.m., Kramer, of Redfield, S.D., was traveling north on 66th Avenue Southeast in a 1995 Chevrolet SUV when he pulled to the side of the dirt road to allow a semi to pass, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

When Kramer pulled back onto the the road, his vehicle struck a 2007 Ford F-350 being driven by 19-year-old Zachary Long of Atoka, Okla. traveling the opposite direction, authorities said.

Dust from the road was cited as a factor in the crash.

Kramer was pronounced dead at the scene and Long was transported to Ashley Hospital for minor injuries.

Long was wearing a seat belt, authorities said; Kramer was not.
