HOT SPRINGS, S.D. -- A former teacher with the Yellow Medicine East School District received the maximum possible sentence of 15 years in prison for felony sexual contact with a person under the age of 16.
George Krenz, 31, was sentenced Friday in Hot Springs, S.D. He will serve the sentence in the South Dakota Penitentiary near Sioux Falls, S.D., the Fall River County clerk of court's office reported.
The Fall River County Sheriff's office charged that there had been possible sexual contact between Krenz and up to three different girls. He allegedly furnished alcohol to the students at his home.
Krenz served as a social studies instructor in the Yellow Medicine East High School in Granite Falls during the 2001-02 school year.
A native of Sleepy Eye, Krenz had held teaching positions at five different schools before joining the Hot Springs, S.D.
