Four arrested after possible assault and robbery in Willmar

WILLMAR -- Three men and one juvenile from Willmar were arrested Tuesday after they allegedly assaulted a man and stole his vehicle.

The incident occurred around 3:38 p.m. Tuesday at the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest.

According to a news release from the Willmar Police Department, the alleged victim told officers he had been sitting in his vehicle when the four suspects approached him. They allegedly assaulted him, demanded he get out of the vehicle and then took off with the vehicle.

The man suffered some injuries from the alleged assault and was familiar with the suspects, the release said.

Law enforcement located the vehicle, unoccupied, a couple of blocks away from where the incident occurred.


The four suspects were located and arrested at a residence on the 300 block of Bernard Street Southeast.

The Tribune normally does not name suspects until they are officially charged in court. The three adult suspects, aged 22, 22 and 21, are being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail, while the juvenile suspect was taken to Prairie Lakes Youth Programs facility, the release said.
