ATWATER -- Three adults and one child were injured around noon Wednesday in a crash with semi truck on a snow and ice-covered U.S. Highway 12 in Atwater.
According to the State Patrol, 34-year-old Jacob Wayne Streich of Atwater lost control of a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer as he drove west on the icy highway near Garfield Street.
The vehicle traveled across the lane and slid sideways into an eastbound 2007 International semi truck, driven by 56-year-old Kevin Roy Lang of Cold Spring.
Streich and Lang were injured, along with two of Streich’s passengers: 34-year-old Amy Rose Grubbs of Atwater and 4-year-old Kylee A. Thompson.
Streich, Lang and Thompson were transported to Rice Memorial Hospital; Grubbs was transported to St. Cloud Hospital.

A fourth passenger in the Blazer, Lane Corbin Streich, 2, was not injured.
Jacob Streich and Thompson had not been wearing seatbelts, the State Patrol said. Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office records indicate one person was ejected from one of the vehicles.
The crash partially blocked traffic on the highway. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office assisted directing traffic around the scene.
