WILLMAR -- Fredolph W. Johnson, 90, of Willmar died Monday at his home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake in rural New London. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar, with military honors by V.F.W. Post 1639.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
He was born Jan. 5, 1916, in Swift County to Floyd and Wiel (Lesteberg) Johnson. He lived in Swift County and attended diesel mechanic school in Fargo, N.D. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the South Philippines Campaign. He was wounded in October of 1944 and received the Purple Heart. He returned to Minnesota and farmed and raised turkeys in Mamre Township, Kandiyohi County.

He marriaed Ruth King on Dec. 6, 1970, in New Ulm. He continued to farm in Mamre Township and retired in the mid-1980s.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake; served as commander of the V.F.W. Post in Sunburg and was a member of DAV and the American Legion.
He is survived by his son: Mervin King of Farmington; and two sisters: Olive Butler of New London and Arline Dunlap of Yakima, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1991 and three brothers.
