WILLMAR -- The National Kidney Foundation will offer free kidney health screenings in Willmar later this month. They will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building.
The screenings are targeted at individuals at increased risk of developing kidney disease. Medical professionals will be on hand to administer screening tests, review results and answer questions.

Those especially urged to participate include anyone 18 or older with one or more of the following: diabetes; high blood pressure; a parent or sibling with diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease.
Participants will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire, provide blood and urine samples, and have their blood pressure, height and weight measured. Results will be reviewed with them at the end of the screening.

The screening is offered through the Kidney Early Evaluation Program of the National Kidney Foundation. It is sponsored locally by Rice Memorial Hospital with the financial support of the Rice Health Foundation.
