SPICER -- Friedrich Otto "Fred" Brammer, 88, of Spicer died Sunday at his home.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Graveside services will be Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Louisville, Neb.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1917, in Louisville, Neb., to George and Margareta (Soltau) Brammer. He grew up in Louisville and graduated from high school in 1935. He moved to Burbank, Calif., in 1937 and graduated in 1940 from Curtis Wright Technical Institution.

He married Edith Vogler on June 8, 1941, in Louisville, Neb. They lived in Burbank and he worked for Lockheed as a tool planner for 45 years, retiring in 1984. They moved to Lincoln, Neb. in 1995. He moved to New London in 2001.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in New London.

He is survived by two daughters: Florence (and David) Kleine of Barrington, Ill., and Sharon (and Perry) Nelson of New London; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister: Marguerite K. Mannheimer of North Hills, Calif.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife in 2001, and two brothers.
