The following west central Minnesota candidates have filed to run for state or local office in the Nov. 7 general election.
Candidates for county offices file in their county auditors' offices. Most legislative candidates file with the secretary of state. In the case of legislative districts that do not cross county lines, candidates may file with county auditors.
The list of state and county candidates is reported on the secretary of state's Web site. An (I) in the listing below denotes an incumbent.
Filing for school boards with even-year elections is currently open, too.
Candidates may file for office through 5 p.m. on July 18. They have until 5 p.m. July 20 to withdraw their candidacies if they choose.

KMS Schools
Two people have filed so far for three seats open on the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg School Board. Jane Stassen and Craig Johnson have filed for re-election. The third seat is currently held by Lynn Sluter.
MACCRAY Schools

No one has filed yet for the three open seats on the MACCRAY School Board. The seats are in District 2, where the seat is currently held by Randy Janssen; District 4, where the seat is held by Rollie Ammermann; and District 5, where the seat is held by Gerry Struxness.
RCW Schools
No one has filed yet for the three open seats on the Renville County West School Board.
They are held by Julie Abbas, Philip Smith and Calvin Lueck.
