BENSON -- Gaylord Luvern Lund, 82, of Benson died Thursday at West Wind Village in Morris.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sauk Rapids.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Hantho Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Elmer and Helen (Thompson) Lund. He grew up in the Madison and Hancock areas, and graduated from Madison High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He attended ETRI in Minneapolis to become a telegrapher.

He married Iona Anderson on April 28, 1956, in Webster, S.D. He worked as a telegrapher/station agent in the St. Cloud to Anoka area for the Northern Pacific Burlington Northern Railroad. He also owned and operated Lund's Lakeside Motel from 1969 to 1971. He retired from the railroad in 1983.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his siblings: Eileen (and George) Bendt of Nickerson, Harlan (and Ione) Lund of Minneapolis, Yvonne (and Vern) Krupke of Hancock; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2004; and one stepson: Alan Avok.
