OLIVIA -- George Orville Scott, 99, of Olivia died Saturday at his home at Fairview Place.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church in Olivia. Burial will be at the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He was born Nov. 30, 1907, in Granville, Ill., to Orville and Ida (Huth) Scott. He attended school at District 68 in the Granville community. The family moved to a farm in Renville County in 1915.

He married Ella Benesh on Feb. 11, 1931. They farmed north of Olivia for many years, retired, and moved into town in 1980. Ella died in 1999. He lived at Fairview Place in Olivia.
He is survived by his son: Orville Scott (and Gladys Boe) of Wadena; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; daughter-in-law: Carol Scott; three brothers and one sister.
