EDINA -- George Welsh, 75, of Edina, formerly of Willmar, died Sunday.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Celtic Center at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edina, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. Memorials preferred to Benilde-St. Margaret's, Hope for the City, or Bridging.

He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Willmar to Emily and George Welsh. He grew up in Willmar. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in post-World War II Germany. He worked for the railroad.

He married Donna Simenson. They moved to the Twin Cities. He was the founder of Welsh Companies and worked in commercial real estate for over 40 years.

He helped found Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie and was active at Benilde-St. Margaret's School.

He is survived by his wife; children: Brad (and Kathy) Welsh, Anne (and Bob) Kimmel; five grandchildren; and siblings: Buddy, Dennis, Pat, Phyllis and Kathy.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
