BELVIEW -- Gerold A. Bruss, 98, of Belview, formerly of Wood Lake, died Wednesday at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Burial is at St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with The Redwood Valley Funeral Home - Kulow Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
He was born May 1, 1909, in Posen Township, to Henry & Mathilda (Wilkening) Bruss. He attended country school through eighth grade.

He married Mildred Lafrance on Sept. 29, 1929. He was a farmer. During the depression he quit farming and moved into Wood Lake. He worked various jobs. After retirement he did some plumbing work and sold eggs. In 1994, he moved into the Parkview Home.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, where he served as trustee on the church board. He is survived by his children: Darrel (and Mildred) of Kensington, Ordean (and Mildred) of St. Paul, Ronald (and Mary) of Coon Rapids, Leland (and Lois) of St. Paul, Donna (and James) Rowberg of Granite Falls, Marlyce (and Roy) Iverson of Echo, Wesley (and Geri) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Stanley (Jane) of Rice Lake, Wis., and Charlotte (Dale) Donner of Belview; two brothers; one sister; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, four sisters, and a great-grandson.
