Girl hurt in rollover north of New London

NEW LONDON -- A juvenile female was seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash around 1 a.m. Saturday north of New London. According to the State Patrol, the girl was ejected from a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Irma E. Pineda, 40, of Willmar.

NEW LONDON -- A juvenile female was seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash around 1 a.m. Saturday north of New London.

According to the State Patrol, the girl was ejected from a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Irma E. Pineda, 40, of Willmar. She was one of eight passengers in the westbound vehicle when it lost control and rolled into the ditch along State Highway 23 near County Road 31. Road conditions were icy at the time.

The girl was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. The driver and other occupants were also taken to Rice to be checked as a precaution.

The incident is under investigation, according to the Patrol.

Assisting agencies included the New London, Paynesville and Willmar ambulances, the New London Fire Department, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff and Rescue Squad and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
