Girls Basketball: Clark scores 1,000th point in LQPV win over Morris/CA

MORRIS -- Mindy Clark, a 5-9 senior guard, scored the 1,000th point of her career Thursday night, helping Lac qui Parle Valley hand Morris/Chokio-Alberta its first West Central South Conference loss, 55-43.

MORRIS -- Mindy Clark, a 5-9 senior guard, scored the 1,000th point of her career Thursday night, helping Lac qui Parle Valley hand Morris/Chokio-Alberta its first West Central South Conference loss, 55-43.

Clark entered the game with 995 career points and finished with 13 for a total of 1,008. She scored her 1,000th point on a short jumper with around eight minutes left in the first half. The game was stopped and she was presented with the game ball. She si the fourth girls basketball players from LQPV to reach the milestone after Mindy Schirm (1,173), Kirsten Skjei (1,112) and Jenny Ulstad (1,114).

LQPV (3-1, 7-3) pulled away from a two-point lead with under six minutes remaining. Madeline Gail had 11 points. Kayla Rheingans added eight points and 11 rebounds. Clark also had seven assists and six steals.

Jasmine Henrich led Morris/CA (4-1, 5-4) with 12 points.
