DAWSON -- Dawson-Boyd pulled away from MACCRAY in a defensive second half for a 46-36 win in the season opener and Camden Conference opener Tuesday.
The Blackjacks (1-0, 1-0) survived the first half with a 25-23 lead, then wore down the Wolverines in the second half, allowing just 13 points.
Dawson-Boyd's biggest edge came at the free-throw line, making 9 of 13. MACCRAY had only four attempts, sinking three.
Nikki Swenson led the Blackjacks with 12 points and also grabbed seven rebounds. Shawna Robertson also had seven caroms.
Ashley Beseman led MACCRAY with 10 points and seven rebounds.
