EDEN VALLEY -- New London-Spicer knocked off Class AA's No. 4-team, Eden Valley-Watkins, 44-37 in the Wildcats' girls basketball season-opener Tuesday.
The Eagles won a tournament over the weekend where they won their last two games by double digits.
The Wildcats dominated the boards, 38-28, and got a double-double out of Renae Henjum, who scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Karli Wendlandt added eight points and Cassie Ziemer had six points and 10 boards.
