CLARKFIELD -- Esther Peterson's two free throws iced a 54-51 win for Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg over Yellow Medicine East Tuesday.
The Fighting Saints (6-3) had a 10-point lead in the second half, but the Sting (6-3) rallied to tie the game with under a minute left.
YME had plenty of opportunities, but made only 8-of-19 shots from the free-throw line.
Peterson scored 14 points and had seven rebounds for KMS. Kim Stassen added 10 points.
Audrey Formo's double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds led YME. Michelle Preuss also had 12 points.

After being held to just three points in the first half, Hilary Groothuis erupted for 13 in the final 18 minutes to rally MACCRAY (8-2) past Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta (1-6). The Tigers owned a 15-14 lead at halftime.
Groothuis also grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds as the Wolverines shot only 36 percent (15-for-42) from the field.
