Girls Basketball: LQPV avenges earlier loss to ACGC, 46-27

MADISON -- Lac qui Parle Valley (3-7, 9-11) attempted only 36 shots, but its patience paid off, avenging an earlier West Central South Conference loss to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, this time winning 46-27 Tuesday night.

Mindy Clark had 16 points and six steals, and Madeline Gail added 10 points for the Eagles (3-7, 9-11).

Brittany Smith had 10 points to lead the Falcons (4-6, 7-12), who opened the game missing their first 20 field goal attempts. Kjersten Karlsgodt was held scoreless after scoring 22 points in the first meeting.

Melissa Benson scored a season-high 23 points and pocketed six steals to help the Warriors avenge an earlier loss to the Tigers (4-6, 5-14). Kory Plumley followed with a season-high 13 points.

Jasmine Henrich had 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Brittany Nelson scored 11 points to pace the Tigers.

Central Minnesota Christian's Hillary Slagter scored a game-high 22 points, the most a Bluejay has scored in a game this season. Slagter also grabbed nine rebounds while Kari Mulder netted 12 points.
