Girls Basketball: LQPV edges RCW in opener

RENVILLE -- Lac qui Parle Valley took advantage of turnovers down the stretch from Renville County West to post a 58-52 non-conference win Tuesday in the opener for both teams.

Micaela Erickson and Madeline Gail both scored 13 points to pace a balanced attack for the Eagles. Mindy Clark supplied 11 rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

Megan Groen netted 19 of her game-high 22 points in the second half for RCW after the junior guard collected three fouls in the game's first three minutes.
