CLARA CITY -- MACCRAY fought off a game-high 25 points from Renville County West's Megan Groen by getting a balanced attack en route to clipping the previously unbeaten Jaguars 39-35 in a Camden Conference girls basketball game on Tuesday.
MACCRAY (2-1, 3-3) was up by 10 before RCW (2-1, 4-1) got within one with four minutes remaining. The Wolverines then got a three-pointer from Allison Hebrink to pad their lead and seal the win.
Alisha Schuerman had 13 points -- the only player to score in double figures for MACCRAY -- and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Wolverines.
Groen, who was held to just eight points in the first half, also piled up 10 rebounds and eight steals.
