MADISON -- Russell-Tyler-Ruthton won a battle of unbeatens with Hancock and Minneota held on to clip Lac qui Parle Valley Thursday to advance to the championship of the LQPV Invitational.
RTR rallied to upend Hancock 56-52 while Minneota posted a 63-57 win. RTR (7-0) and Minneota (7-2) will face off at 6 p.m. while Hancock (4-1) and LQPV (1-7) meet in the third-place game at 3 p.m.

The Eagles made 21 of 38 shots but were foiled by turnovers (20 total, 9 unforced). Micaela Erickson and Andrea Rheingans each scored 18 points for Lac qui Parle Valley which trailed 29-27 at half.
Caitlyn Anderson led the balanced Vikings offense with 15 points.

Hancock owned a 36-22 lead at halftime before the Knights outscored the Owls 34-16 in the second half.
Jenny Noordmans had 16 points and nine rebounds, Bree Holleman added 15 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals, and Chelsey Voorhees grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Owls.
