Girls Basketball: Moseng scores 1,000th point, but Monte falls

GLENWOOD -- Montevideo's Brook Moseng eclipsed the 1,000-career-point mark Tuesday, but the Thunder Hawks fell to Minnewaska, 53-48, in non-conference girls basketball action.

GLENWOOD -- Montevideo's Brook Moseng eclipsed the 1,000-career-point mark Tuesday, but the Thunder Hawks fell to Minnewaska, 53-48, in non-conference girls basketball action.

Moseng, who scored 16 points to lead the Thunder Hawks (4-3), reached the milestone on a baseline drive with 3:31 left in the game.

The Lakers (5-2) owned a 26-22 lead at halftime. Cassie Jacobs led Minnewaska with 14 points and eight rebounds. Sara Gregersen and Emily Roering had 12 points each.

Hannah Wenaas scored 12 points for Montevideo and Rebeka Schwendemann added 11. Kara Nelson dished out seven assists.
