Girls Basketball: New London-Spicer ousted by HLWW in 5AA-North

DASSEL -- New London-Spicer shot 24 percent from the field in the second half, losing a 10-point lead and getting knocked out of the Section 5AA-North playoffs with a 66-60 loss to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Thursday.

The Wildcats (20-8) led 38-28 at halftime on 15-of-28 shooting (54 percent). Renae Henjum had 15 points.

But in the second half, HLWW's Brittany Drew scored 21 of her game-high 27 points and Henjum was held to just two points in a 16-point turnaround.

Jenn Wendlandt had a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds for New London-Spicer. Cassidy Vogt added 10 points and eight assists. Henjum grabbed seven boards and blocked five shots.
