NEW LONDON -- Eight players scored for New London-Spicer -- including three freshmen and an eighth-grader -- as the Wildcats beat Morris/Chokio-Alberta 55-36 in a non-conference girls basketball on Saturday evening.
It was the seventh straight win for the Wildcats (17-6) since a four-game losing streak early in January. NLS has three tough West Central North opponents left: at Minnewaska Tuesday, home Friday against league-leading Albany and home against Melrose Feb. 16.
Sophomore center Renae Henjum led the young Wildcats with 18 points. Jenn Wendlandt provided nine points and 15 rebounds followed by Cassidy Vogt at nine points and Ellary Asche with eight.
Freshmen Kelsey Cors, Trista Norris and Michele Hanson each had a basket as did eighth grader Cassie Ziemer.
Ashley Dohlen and Jasmine Henrich scored 10 apiece for the Tigers.
