BENSON -- Brittany Smith scored 23 points and Brittany Nelson added 16 as Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City came from behind to defeat Benson 61-55 in a West Central South girls basketball game on Friday.
Benson led 27-21 at halftime but that lead was swept aside by the Falcons' second-half accuracy as they scored 40 points, 15 on three-pointers. Smith got 17 of her points after intermission.
Brittany Holm produced 18 points and seven rebounds for Benson. Emily Jensen added 13 points and six assists. Nikki Linn made three treys.
ACGC's Kjersten Karlsgodt sank three treys for 11 points and Sara Lund got 12 rebounds and six points.

Both teams had trouble finding the range, but Yellow Medicine East prevailed with stronger rebounding (31-22). Audrey Formo grabbed 13 rebounds to go with 12 points and Michelle Preuss chipped in with six rebounds and five points. Kristin Hegna came up with five assists and six points and Emily Balfany eight points.
Jodee Dittbenner's nine points were high for Morris/Chokio-Alberta.
