LITTLE FALLS -- Brin Hanson scored 14 points for the second straight game and Briana Goldschmidt added a season-high 12 points to help Willmar drub Little Falls for a second time this season, this time posting a 52-34 win Friday in the Central Lakes Conference.
The Cardinals (8-7, 11-10) jumped out to comfortable lead early behind four first-half three-pointers -- three from Goldschmidt -- and eventually took a 33-15 lead into halftime.
"Brin has had a couple of nice games in a row and she is playing with confidence on defense and offense," said Willmar coach Brad Atchison. "She was a real catalyst tonight."
Hanson and Goldschmidt helped take off the pressure off Lisa Nielsen (eight points) and Kelsey Evans (two), the team's top two scorers, netting only a combined 10 points. Nielsen (14.4 ppg) and Evans (11.4 ppg) have accounted for over half of the Cardinals' offense this season.
Willmar beat the Flyers (5-9, 8-11) 61-35 in the season's first meeting, Jan. 29 in Willmar.
