MARSHALL -- Willmar had the chance to avoid overtime and steal a non-conference girls basketball victory Tuesday, but Marshall blocked the last-second shot and beat the Cardinals, 56-53, in overtime.
Jena Thompson scored the game-tying basket and Willmar regained possession of the ball. Mariel Aamot charged into the lane for the winner, but the Tigers blocked the shot.
Marshall started the overtime with four straight points to gain control.
Brown collected seven steals for the Cardinals.
Kelsey Evans netted 26 points and seven rebounds, and Thompson had 12 points and 13 boards.

Willmar struggled from three-point range, missing on all 15 attempts.
Anna Full paced the Tigers with 20 points.
